The Fine Print...

Thank you for your interest in my digital bird images. The photographs on this website were captured via the digiscoping method. The camera I use is a Nikon Coolpix 995 (3.3 megapixel) digital camera coupled to a Swarovski AT80 HD spotting scope. High-resolution images are 2048 x 1536 at 72 dpi with a physical print size of 21.3" x 28.4". Correctly converted to 300 dpi they render a physical print size of 5.1" x 6.8". Before emailing me, please check with your graphic artist to make sure these print size specifications conform to your intended application. Regrettably, some high-resolution images were lost in a hardware failure and at the time I had no backup. They are lost forever -- therefore, some images are not available for professional printing purposes as the web version is the only one that exists. My current policy on image use is to never give them away for any purpose without some form of compensation. This includes all publications, educational software, web uses and power point presentations. Unless some form of payment is mentioned in your request, I will not respond. I do not photograph birds in order to make a living income, but I know many photographers that do. By giving away my images I devalue their time, expenses and great work. Thank you for your understanding.
