Have a Leica? Wanna use the Swaro DCA?

Here are images showing the spacer ring Ben Lizdas made from PVC tubing so that he could use the Swarovski Digitial Camera Adapter for his Leica Televid spotting scope and Pentax K100D D-SLR.

According to Ben, the inner diameter of the ring is 2.00", outer is 2.20" and the height is .40". The spacer ring slips over the eyepiece and then the bottom section of the Swarovski DCA fits snug against the ring, rendering a functional and elegant design.

If you're considering a small point-and-shoot digital camera that lacks an accessory thread, it still makes more sense to use Leica's digiscoping adapter.

Hi

I had an adapter made to your spec by Griturn however although the DCA fits snug against the split ring it does not seen to centre at the viewing end.Did you have to use tape to secure abetter fit at the viewing end of the DCA?

All the very best.

hi -- here is one for you-- i used you suggestion ( i used a piece of schedule 40 pvc pipe and buffed it down to fit a leica televid 62 spotting scope using the swarovski adapters - no tape needed - lucked out ) works great -- here is the kicker thou-- i have a canon vixia hf 10 hd camcorder ( i use the 37mm adapter that comes with the swarovski kit ( one of 5 adapters ) and it works great on the scope no vigetting -- i have videoed mule deer out 2 miles -- set camcorder on manual focus and use remote to start and stop recording -- focusing is done on scope-- the only thing about this setup is that if you want to burn dvds you have to use a canon burner with dvd-r disks and then play thru a blue ray player into a hd tv - a bit pricey but worth it! i use this same setup on a swarovski scope -- i do stills with a pentax k100d slr which now works on both scopes -- the leica is great for backpacking because of its lightness -- thanks to eagle optics and your suggestions -- mark
